Fabric Printing

This section covers FABX Studio’s fabric printing service, including how to order, maximum print size, fabric limitations, artwork requirements, production lead time, and normal textile printing variation.

Do you print on customer-provided fabric?

No. FABX Studio only prints on FABX Studio fabrics and materials.

We do not print on customer-provided fabric, customer-supplied garments, blank products, or pre-made items. This helps us maintain consistency across fabric handling, print quality, production workflow, and quality checking.

How do I order fabric printing?

Select your chosen fabric printing listing, upload or link your artwork, check the print size and quantity carefully, and complete checkout.

Fabric printing is ordered by length. If your artwork length exceeds 1 metre, please increase the quantity accordingly.

For example, if your artwork needs to be printed across 2 metres, the quantity should reflect the full required print length.

What is the maximum size for fabric printing?

Most fabrics can be printed up to 145 cm wide and up to 5 metres long continuously.

For Chiffon Silk Doff, Viscose Marble, and Bandung Voile, the maximum continuous print size is up to 110 cm wide and up to 5 metres long.

If your artwork exceeds the maximum printable width or length, please contact us before ordering so we can advise whether the file needs to be split, resized, repeated, or adjusted.

What file resolution do I need?

Please prepare your artwork at the exact final dimensions required for print.

As a general guide, files should be 300 DPI at actual size. Low-resolution files enlarged beyond their original size may print blurry.

If your artwork includes fine lines, text, logos, or detailed illustration, please make sure the file is clear at the actual print size before uploading.

What file format should I send?

For source files, AI, PDF, PSD, and TIFF are preferred.

For image-based artwork, high-resolution PNG or JPG may also be accepted.

For vector or text-heavy artwork, please outline fonts and expand strokes before sending.

Which colour mode should I use?

Please prepare artwork in RGB colour mode unless a specific product or fabric guideline states otherwise.

Colours may appear differently between screen and fabric due to fabric texture, base colour, print method, lighting, and screen display differences.

Do different fabrics print differently?

Yes. Print appearance can vary depending on the fabric base, texture, absorbency, and printing method used.

Polyester and natural fabrics do not behave exactly the same, so colour, softness, sharpness, and final finish may differ from one fabric to another.

Product-specific notes and printing guidelines are listed on the relevant product or collection pages.

How do natural fabrics print compared to polyester fabrics?

Natural fabrics print differently from polyester fabrics and may show a softer, more organic result depending on the fabric base, weave, and dye process used.

Natural fabric printing may involve normal variation in:

  • colour appearance
  • print softness and depth
  • fabric shrinkage or stretching
  • minor surface or print irregularities within normal tolerance

These variations are part of the nature of fabric printing and are not automatically classified as production faults.

If colour precision or fabric behaviour is important for your project, we recommend ordering a swatch or test print before proceeding with a larger order.

Will the printed fabric look exactly like my screen?

Not always. Screen colours and printed fabric colours may differ.

Fabric printing can be affected by the fabric base, texture, print method, artwork file, and lighting conditions. Slight variation in colour, print placement, shrinkage, stretching, or minor marks may occur within normal production tolerance.

These normal textile printing variations are not automatically classified as manufacturing faults.

Will you adjust, resize, or correct my artwork before printing?

No. We print according to the artwork submitted.

Please review your file carefully before uploading. Design edits, layout changes, resizing, colour correction, or correction of typographical errors are not included as a standard part of the order.

If a file is inaccessible, incorrect, or incomplete, we may contact you before proceeding.

How long does fabric printing take?

As a general guide, fabric printing usually takes around 5–10 working days.

This timeline refers to production and does not include delivery time.

Larger quantities, unclear artwork, file access issues, public holidays, or orders requiring clarification may take longer.

When does production begin?

Production begins only after payment, final artwork, and any required approval or clarification are fully confirmed.

If artwork access is missing, file clarification is needed, or approval is pending, production has not started yet.

Can I request urgent fabric printing?

We do not offer same-day production.

Where feasible, only delivery may be expedited after production is completed. An urgent deadline does not automatically shorten production.

If you have a deadline, please contact us before ordering so we can review whether the timeline is realistic.

Should I order a swatch or test print first?

Yes, if colour, texture, fabric feel, scale, or print behaviour is important for your project.

Swatches and test prints help you review how the fabric looks and feels before committing to a larger print order.
